Tons of demos!

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Sometime in 2008, we will be recording another album. We’ve got enough “new” songs to do two albums, really…but that would be pushing it. There’s definitely an exorbitant batch of tunes to work with. And as far as the arrangements go, we’re pretty happy with our finished songs (though I could be just as happy re-arranging EVERYTHING, just for kicks).

I just went through my hard drive and found almost everything that’s been recorded in The Basement between 2004 and 2008, years before Camera-Head Shark. This is excluding all the wacky shit that George has done, which I’ll leave him to post on his own, if he so chooses. I will only post what I’ve been involved in.

SO, I think I’ll do it like this: Twice a week on cameraheadshark.com, a “new” demo will be added to the ‘music’ section–one on Monday, one on Friday–until I run out of material (that should be about three months’ worth) to post. And when I run out of said material to share, I’ll convince the guys to demo new stuff (I know Charles wants to, and that’s enough to make it work). You’ll never have a reason NOT to come to cameraheadshark.com!

I’ll try to provide a little back story to each recording session. Perhaps some of these will end up on future albums. I hope they do. If anyone has further questions regarding these compositions, send an email to rysmith@cameraheadshark.com.

Beijing

Beijing

This is a short one. It was recorded sometime during the summer of 2006 in Luke Shaljian’s basement, after he taught me a few chords on acoustic guitar. We’d spent the afternoon canoeing drunkenly through the Great South Bay and singing sea shanties. This is the end result.
